Birria is one of Mexico’s most celebrated recipes – a slow-cooked stew of tender meat marinated in a powerful blend of chillies, herbs, and spices. Traditionally made with beef, goat, or lamb, it’s famous for its warming broth, bold aroma, and addictive depth of flavour. With our carefully balanced beef birria spices, you can now recreate this legendary dish at home with the punch of authentic Mexican heat.

🥄 How to Cook
For 2–3 servings, marinate 500g of beef (shank, chuck roast, short ribs) – or try lamb, goat, turkey, mushrooms, jackfruit, or aubergine for a plant-based version.
👉 Mix 2 tbsp (≈15g) of hot birria spice mix with 2 cups (≈480ml) hot water and 1 tsp sugar (optional). Pour over your protein and cook until tender:

Slow cooker: 4–5h High | 7–8h Low

Dutch oven: 3h at 160°C (vegetables: 45–60 min)

Pressure cooker: 35–40 min (vegetables: 8–10 min)
👉 Shred the meat or veg and serve in warm tortillas with onion, coriander, and lime – perfect for tacos or quesabirria.
